All in Red

Aunt Tania and Uncle Edi gave Elena this super cute red heart dress just in time for Valentine's Day! She paired it with red tights and her red sparkle shoes. She got so into the red theme of her outfit that she used a red marker for her schoolwork.

Clean-up time

Elena worked really hard to clean all the food and dishes that belong in her kitchen. The kitchen's cabinets and storage drawer were washed and organized too. Elena was so proud of her work that after playing with the food today every item went right back to where it belongs. Usually it just gets put where ever there is room... Good job, E!

More snow!!!!!!!!!!!!

Look at all our snow! Co loves it too. Elena made a snowwoman and gave her a polka-dot dress with raisins - cute, huh? Of course, as soon as she turned her back, Cody devoured the raisins and decapitated Elena's hard work. But that didn't stop Elena from making another snow person.
What a downfall!
Elena helped scrape some snow off the deck railing.
And Cody loved having someone outside to share the good times. Silly Co!
We're loving the snow because it's a huge improvement to the ice we had the week before.

Bowling!

While visiting Luke I got to go bowling! I used a pink ball and wore cool shoes! It was fun and I was very good at waiting for my turn.
The scoreboard showed how fast my ball went down the lane. One time it didn't quite make 1MPH, and sometimes there wasn't any speed listed at all...
Probably because the balls didn't make it to the end. I got 2 stuck in the lane! Mommy thinks that's a record.
Hopefully I can go bowling again soon. Or I can find some shoes like the ones they gave me to wear since I didn't want to take them off when the game was over...
Love, Elena

Visiting Luke

We took an airplane to Luke's house! It was so much fun! I got to sit next to the window and Mommy held my hand as we went up in the air. I got to play with new special things on the airplane, including an Elina coloring book!Luke and I had so much fun! He has lots of toys, but I shared my Elina coloring book with him.
We liked building with his blocks and playing in the giant box. Sometimes it was a rocketship!
It was Luke's birthday. He turned 4! We had cake and a pinata and there was a bouncy house. I made friends with a girl named Ingrid. We had fun eating candy together.
Thanks for a fun time Luke, Auntie Jean, and Tony!
Love, Elena

Tired girl

Loved that we caught this moment on camera! Elena fell asleep during quiet time and she still has a pen in her hand! Tired little kiddo... Falling asleep during quiet time hasn't happened in awhile (or very often) - not even yesterday when she had a busy day at school and then went swimming at the pool for an hour!

Elena and Nori

For being such a good girl at Mommy's eye appointment (it took forever!), Elena got Nori the Mermaid. It's a character from the Barbie Fairytopia Mermaidia movie. Pretty sure she likes that character because she has blue hair... Earlier that day we had done Nori style hair with blue spray! It was a special day because we got to go to Aiden's 4th birthday party at the KidsQuest Children's Museum in Factoria. Elena painted an E on the rock and had fun playing in the water exhibit. For the party, the kids made goop and ate pirate cake. Yum! Er, Yar!
Thanks for the party invite Aiden!

Let's make cakes!

We made cupcakes this week to celebrate Nana's birthday! There were pink, blue, and purple frosted chocolate cupcakes. Elena wanted to put sprinkles on them. Each frosting color had a certain type of sprinkle, here's Elena describing them.

Post-it Art

Elena's favorite car pastime is drawing pictures on Post-it notes. We love her use of color to make things look realistic. She drew Whitto with a pink nose and white whiskers, just like he is! Last week in school they were learning about O and it's sound, that's why she wrote an O.

Elena will draw someone with legs, and then decide to put them in a dress, but the dress doesn't get colored in. Looks like the person is wearing a cape!

It's a....

baby's profile with open mouth
baby's spine

baby's feet

BOY!
Even though Elena wanted a sister, she was excited this morning when she told her teacher, Miss Sarah, that it was a boy.

Snow day!

Monday we woke up to about 3 inches of snow. We tried sledding, but that didn't work so well. But Elena had fun shoving snow off the deck onto Mommy.
Big laugh!
We made a Mommy and baby snowperson with Cody's help. They have rock eyes and pinecone noses. Elena's really learning how to pack the snow and roll a ball to get it bigger.
Whitto joined us for some fun. He played in the plant and then got frisky with Cody in the snow (wish we had video of that!).

Here's Elena working on the snow Mommy.

Today we have 5 inches of new snow. School was still scheduled, but it was a small class. We were 10 minutes late and only the 3rd kid to arrive! By lunch time there were 8 kids total. Mommy surprised the class with fresh snow so they could make snow cream sundaes after their lunch. They all loved it and Elena thought it was a special treat that she could stay and have lunch with her friends.

Cars collecting

Some new diecast cars from Cars have been released and we're back to collecting. We have Mia and Tia, Dusty and Rusty, Mrs. the King, and even a blue Ramone! We're enjoying playing with the new cars (as we find them) and re-watching the movie.
It's a good thing there are more since somehow we've lost Woody and Stanley is broken. Now there are new cars for Elena to focus on.

Our little gamer

Elena's interest has returned to video games. We got Super Mario Galaxy for Christmas and Elena really likes to watch and play it on the Wii. The game (rated #1 game for 2007) has a great 2 player option where the second player just catches stars. She's great at it! Elena does seem to enjoy playing with Daddy more because Mommy always dies... Elena was having such a good time with the Wii, we decided to rent Disney Princess: Enchanted Journey. She enjoyed this game too because she could change her princess character's look and clothes, plus visit Ariel, Cinderella, Jasmine, Snow White, and Belle. Elena finished all the tasks and won the game!

For our PS2, we got Singstar Amped. It's home karaoke! Elena likes to sing the song from Shrek (Changes by David Bowie) and Born to be Wild. Grandma and Grandpa came over and she got them singing too. When Daddy sings, she gets the chance to dance.

Here's a video of her singing the Nickleback song, Savin' Me.

Happy New Year!

No, we didn't stay up until midnight. Our power went out around 9:30 pm, so there wasn't much to keep us up... New Years Day we went to Grandma's house to help clean out unused items. Look at that stack of VHS tapes! Wow! We opened some celebration crackers that were filled with paper hats and toys. Took a long time before we got a purple or blue hat...
Grandma gave Elena a Tinkerbell outfit, but Elena said, "Mommy says I have to take it home and wrap it up." It's a new thing she does where all her sentences to Grandma start with "Mommy says" or "Daddy says." And no, Mommy and Daddy don't really say those things. We didn't even wrap it up at home, just opened the box and dressed up. Elena even agreed to a ballerina bun in her hair!
Elena also likes showing how big/tall she is. She goes to different areas in the house (sometimes standing on the couch) and raises her arm up to show how tall she is. "Look at me, look at me! Look how tall I am!" Elena likes to talk about how she's getting bigger every day.
Her new smile for the camera is biting her lip or cheek and doing a half grin. You can see it pretty well in a couple of pictures here.
