Lovin' the swim lessons!

Elena started a new session of private lessons with Teacher Patty. She is just making amazing progress! Watch her doing the crawl stroke in the video - she still needs to work on her "big arms", but her coordination is there! It's fantastic that she's floating on her back and able to roll over to her front. Next step: roll from stomach to back.

Here's Elena diving to the bottom of the pool.

The kickboard helps her learn to keep her body straight.

Just wanted to share the action shot!

Lots of rocks

We had lots of rocks delivered to the house so our driveway wouldn't be a mud pit anymore.Everyone did their share of shoveling and spreading with the rake.
Elena was able to climb all the way to the top of the big, big rock pile. It got her very messy, but what a cute picture!
Elena got to experience wheelbarrow rides (something Grandpa used to do for Mommy). She loved them - bumpy and fast!
Still have some more rocks to spread, just waiting for the snow to stop falling...

Everett Children's Museum!

Elena loves loves loves the Everett Children's Museum. And who could blame her? The place is HUGE! Elena loves the 2 story spiral slide! Elena loves the pizza restaurant and serving her customers!
Elena loves to jump like a frog!
Elena loves playing with the whales in the water!
In the 3 hours we were there, we didn't have time to do it all - too many choices... But we signed up for a membership and will be going back soon!

Fun with Sophia

We're on Spring Break this week and got to have Sophia over for 3 days! The girls had fun at the Cedar River Education Center. We also had trips to the Everett Children's Museum, IKEA, and a couple of libraries.
Elena and Sophia sure know how to pack a lot of activities into 3 days. There was time for free play, painting, making cookies, and putting on shows.
And there is always time for loving Warrick!

Cars on Display

Elena is displaying her cars from Cars at the Renton Highlands Library, aka Auntie's library, for the month of April.
She picked out some of Mary's fabric to use in her display - purple shiny, blue shimmery, and black sparkly! She had a lot of fun arranging and rearranging all her cars in the display case. Elena was very happy that it locked so no one could take her cars (which were getting a lot of attention from the kids at the library).
Elena has a lot of Cars characters, so eventually she accepted help from Mommy and Auntie. We sorted some by name, some by type, and others by who they were friends with.
Check it out if you get a chance! And be sure to say that Elena sent you!
