Wednesday Part 2

Elena switched to a Wednesday gymnastics class so she could take lessons with Miss Kym. Miss Kym is much more inventive with designing activities to practice skills - she is the master of obstacle courses!Ooh! An inflatable climbing wall!
Frog hop to the circles!

Elena asks for some help on the balance beam.

Wednesday Part 1

Here's Elena swimming with the pumpkins! Teacher Patty used the pumpkins as counters for how many times Elena had to practice a skill. Then Elena used the marshmallow stick to scoot around the pool and collect the loose pumpkins. She loved it!

Teacher Patty has started having Elena do big jumps at the end of her lesson. And they are huge! Look at her up in the air! Go E!

Pumpkin Patch

This year we went to Craven Farm to get pumpkins. It is a huge pumpkin patch compared to where we would go in North Bend.

Elena had no trouble finding her perfect, giant pumpkin. She picked one for Zachary too (a much smaller one).
An important part of pumpkin picking is making sure the bottom isn't rotten.
Phew! The pumpkin looks healthy and isn't too heavy to be carried.
Next step: Deciding how to carve it.

Cute hair

Elena had her hair tied in rags one night so she could wake up with super curls.
Loving the ensemble too!

Is that a poodle in the bed?

How did Rai get in Elena's bed? Guess she really wanted to hear the story...

Elena's narrative

Grandma and I took Zachary for a walk in the stroller. I rode my bike. It has a horn. We saw three bunnies.
We went to Grandma's River House. I showed Zachary the fire and he really liked it.
I cut up Grandma's magazines. There were pictures of flowers and animals.
I read Zachary a story. He's in my Ariel bed that I had to pump up. It's good exercise.
I don't know what I'm doing.
I roasted marshmallows and Grandma cooked the mushrooms. I had 2 marshmallows, Mommy had 2, Grandpa had one and Morel and Cody each had 2. I got to roast them all. Then we exploded the other marshmallows in the fire!
Love, Elena

New room

We painted the walls of Elena's room last weekend - you could call it periwinkle. And this weekend Jim installed bamboo flooring. It's a whole new room and looks fantastic (despite the popcorn ceiling...). The furniture isn't all in yet, but her new rug is on the floor and her dresser is in the closet. We plan to have curtains on the window and closet, and install a new light fixture. Plus, we'll give the desk a makeover with new paint and hardware, and install baseboards.

Another day of swimming

Some routine gliding.Elena gets the water out of her goggles.
Working on her circle arms, side breathing, and straight kicks.
While Elena was swimming, Zachary visited with Teacher Patty's daughter, Annalise (she's 2 1/2). Wow! Zachy looks big next to her!
After swimming, we went to Aubrie's house for some fun and Halloween party planning. Elena and Aubrie enjoyed playing with the baby toys...
