By the time we got outside yesterday, half our snow had melted! Elena couldn't make a snowman, and she got awful muddy, but she still enjoyed kicking her big ball around.
We spent the rest of our chilly day inside doing art projects. She was really proud of her finger painting.
We got more snow yesterday afternoon and last night - maybe we'll be able to make a snowman today. Poor Jim had a 5 hour commute home last night... hopefully his commute today won't be as lengthy.

Five Hours?!! Oh no! Poor Jim. What a trooper to go to work today then. Some of our coworkers just gave up and said "I'm snow and iced in!"
I hope the sun will melt some of the ice and make the commute more manageable today.
I'll be curious how the "snow cream" tastes. My mother always tells me that her grandmother used to make ice cream out of snow, but she never said how she did it!

Apparently you just mix some cream, vanilla, and sugar together, then slowly add fresh, clean snow until you get the desired consistency.
